answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/03/2022 answer text <p>The pandemic has meant significant new programmes of work have been established in the criminal justice system to support recovery and build back better.</p><p> </p><p>In the last few months alone, we have published a Victims consultation, a Prisons White Paper, the first national and local criminal justice scorecards and started a consultation on a Bill of Rights. We have also announced the most ambitious reform of criminal legal aid in decades, with the total level of investment being the highest in a decade. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/07/2021 answer text <p>Work to establish a Royal Commission was slowed down last year to prioritise the safe operation of the Criminal Justice System in response to the impact of Covid. As we continue to recover and build back the CJS, it is right that we now pause work on the Royal Commission to allow space for the recovery work before revisiting where a Commission might add most value.
