<p>HM Prison and Young Offender Institution Hindley’s role is to hold young adult
men (aged between 18 and 21 years) and adult men (aged 21 and older). This ensures
that the accommodation at Hindley is used in line with the National Offender Management
Service’s Estate strategy, which is to provide the number and type of prison places
required by the courts, configure the estate to give best effect to Ministry of Justice
strategic policy priorities, support stakeholder objectives, and those of partner
organisations and make the best use of taxpayers’ money.</p>
