answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2020 answer text <p>In response to COVID-19 the Government has provided a 100 per cent business rates holiday for eligible retail, hospitality and leisure properties in England, for 2020-21, worth over £10 billion. <br> <br> My Department published guidance to help local authorities implement the scheme. The guidance states that eligible properties are those wholly or mainly used as shops, restaurants, cafes, drinking establishments, cinemas and live music venues; those used by visiting members of the public for assembly and leisure; or hotels, guest and boarding premises and self-catering accommodation. We used this data to test potential drivers of this reported covid-related expenditure. Funding is calculated per CEV individual on the Shielded Patient List (SPL) within the council boundaries, irrespective of whether they request support. The funding level is based on experience to date. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/11/2020 answer text <p>This Government is committed to driving the regeneration of towns across the country as the nation responds to the Covid-19 pandemic.</p><p>Our immediate response to Covid-19 builds on an ongoing programme of interventions. This includes the £3.6 billion Towns Fund which aims to deliver long-term economic and productivity growth to towns and high streets. In September 2019, we announced the initial 101 towns, including Crawley, invited to develop Town Deal proposals. We received Crawley’s proposals earlier in the year, and expect to make further announcements of Town Deals in due course. In July, the Prime Minister announced £81.5 million of accelerated funding to the 101 towns to support immediate improvements; Crawley received its £1 million share in September.</p><p>Other elements of the Towns Fund include the Future High Streets Fund competition, where announcements of successful bidders will be made in due course, and a further Towns Fund competition. In June 2020, as part of the Prime Minister’s commitment to bringing forward £5 billion of capital investment projects to support jobs and economic recovery, the Government brought forward over £80 million from the Towns Fund for investment in capital projects that would have an immediate impact across these 101 towns.</p><p>On 27 October, we announced the first seven Town Deal offers, worth almost £180 million, for Barrow-in-Furness, Blackpool, Darlington, Norwich, Peterborough, Torquay and Warrington.
