answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/06/2021 answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) does not tolerate extremism of any kind and it is not compatible with the values and standards of our Armed Forces. Where such behaviour is believed to be occurring, early action is taken to confront and challenge this, including ensuring that referrals are made to the appropriate authorities.</p><p>Service personnel referred for suspected extremism are supported through the process, which can result in dismissal, with appropriate advice, guidance, and counselling as required and requested. In addition, the usual welfare mechanisms and pastoral support remain open to the individual through their local Chain of Command and via organisations such as SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity. Membership of proscribed organisations and extremist behaviour is not tolerated and those who have been convicted of offences are unlikely to continue to serve.</p><p>The MOD adheres to the Home Office Prevent programme. Internally, Defence uses the Channel process to deal with Service personnel who have shown signs of extremism. Menber’s Question on the timing of the Ajax Scout Gateway Reviews 1, 2 and 3, further questions have come to light and further work is required to provide a comprehensive answer.</p><p> </p><p>Ajax has been a protracted programme and Ministers have asked the MOD Permanent Secretary to commission an urgent review into the governance steps taken and associated records.</p><p> </p><p>I will write to the right hon. Member in due course with a comprehensive answer to his question, and I will place a copy of my letter in the Library of the House.</p><p> </p><p>As part of this review of the historic governance record a confirmatory check will be undertaken for any references being made to vibration issues prior to December 2019.</p><p> </p><p>Further to my answer of 14 June 2021 to the right hon.Member's Question 12965 I wish to inform him that at the request of Ministers the MOD Permanent Secretary has also commissioned a Health and Safety Review on actions taken on the project since December 2019 (and any pertinent prior events) to confirm the timeline, actions taken and ongoing work.</p><p> </p><p>The vibration trials at Millbrook Proving Ground to which I made reference in the same Question response are ongoing but I have been updated that we will start to receive data in July and August this year with a final report expected to be delivered in September.</p> answering member constituency Horsham answering member printed Jeremy Quin question first answered 21/06/2021 16:32:14 answering member 4507 label Biography information for Sir Jeremy Quin

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/06/2021 answer text <p>As at March 2011 there were 5,550 Ministry of Defence (MOD) civilian jobs located in Scotland.</p><p> </p><p>The latest published figures confirm that as at 1 April 2020 there were 3,970 MOD civilian jobs located in Scotland.</p><p> </p><p>The figures are full time equivalent and are based on the personnel station location. The March 2011 data includes c104 Meteorological Office personnel.
