However, since the result of the referendum, we have taken the responsible approach to work at pace to build a detailed understanding of how withdrawing from the EU will affect policies and services for a range of outcomes, including the unlikely scenario in which no mutually satisfactory agreement can be reached. Given the long lead-in times to implement some of our contingency measures, we can't wait until we see the final outcome of the negotiations to begin our preparations. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2017 answer text <p>The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill will convert European Union law into UK law as it applies in the UK at the moment of exit. This will ensure that, wherever possible, the same rules and laws will apply the day after exit as they did before.</p><p>The Government is still making a detailed assessment of what corrections will be required to make that law function appropriately on exit day.
