answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/03/2019 answer text <p>I acknowledge the important contributions companies in Yorkshire and the Humber play in defence, and in 2017-18 the Ministry of Defence's (MOD) direct spend with industry in the region was £328 million, up from the previous year.</p><p>The MOD is working closely with other Government Departments and BAE Systems to promote the world leading Hawk Advanced Jet Training aircraft. Last year Hawk was a key component of the package in support of the successful export of Typhoon to Qatar.
