The Home Office collects data on the number of selected offences involving a knife or a sharp instrument recorded by the police in England and Wales at the police force areas level only.Data on knife offences at the police force area level can be found in the Home Office Knife Crime Open Data Tables, available here: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/police-recorded-crime-open-data-tables" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/police-recorded-crime-open-data-tables</a>The Home Office does not hold information on the average age of the perpetrators of knife crimes. Information on the offenders is the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice.
