Two key themes of the action plan are encouraging reporting and increasing support to victims.</p><p>The Action Plan includes a number of commitments that are addressing all forms of hate crime, including a review of hate crime legislation by the Law Commission which commenced earlier this year, a public awareness campaign which has run twice, and the current Online Harms White Paper con-sultation.</p><p>There are also a number of specific commitments addressing homophobic, biphobic and transphobic hate crime, which have been informed by the Government’s 2018 LGBT Action Plan. These include: the Crown Prosecution Service working with partners to improve the recording and monitoring of equalities data for LGBT victims of hate crime and reviewing and refreshing its LGBT Hate Crime Schools Pack; further Government Equalities Office funding for anti-bullying interventions in schools from March 2019 to March 2020; support from the Home Office to the police to improve training in responding to victims; multiple Home Office funded projects aimed at tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic hate crime; and continued engage-ment with LBGT stakeholders.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins grouped question UIN 267778 question first answered 26/06/2019 15:47:52 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/06/2019 answer text <p>In April last year the Government published its Serious Violence Strategy which sets out our response to violent crime including knife crime, gun crime and homicides. It also sets out our action in relation to tackling gang related crime through our Ending Gang Violence and Exploitation and our continued support for local areas through this programme.</p><p>We are making progress in the delivery of our Strategy and have already provided funding to support 29 projects through our Early Intervention Youth Fund, supported the launch of the new National County Lines Coordination Centre in September 2018 and delivered our #knifefree campaigns.</p><p>In March this year the Chancellor also announced a further £100m of funding to support police efforts to tackle serious violence. £65m has been allocated to support the police with £35m being made available to support the creation of Violence Reductions Units.</p> answering member constituency Louth and Horncastle answering member printed Victoria Atkins question first answered 17/06/2019 16:55:06 answering member 4399 label Biography information for Victoria Atkins

As the sponsoring department, the Home Office monitors timeliness performance throughout the year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/05/2019 answer text <p>The Places of Worship Protective Security Funding Scheme has been in place since 2016. Over the first three years, in total the scheme has approved grants worth approximately £1.5 million with 63 to churches, 49 to mosques, 5 to Hindu temples and 17 to Gurdwaras.</p><p><br>We continuously listen to feedback to make the scheme as effective as possible, and places of worship which successfully bid for funding have described feeling an increased sense of safety. As part of our ongoing assessment of the success of the scheme, we monitor the scheme’s application rates and other related management information, seek regular feedback from faith communities and security experts, and undertake site visits at places of worship which have received funding. We have also heard that some places of worship found it cumbersome to gather multiple quotes for all measures, which is why we have removed the requirement under the 2019-20 scheme.</p><p><br>More widely, the Home Secretary has committed to consulting with faith communities to understand what more could and should be done to help protect faith communities at their places of worship.
