<p>There is no specific definition of “rural” or “urban” forces used by the Home Office
in determining the distribution of police funding. Many police forces contain a mixture
of urban and rural areas. Some of the socio-demographic indicators used to determine
the distribution of police funding by force area include measures of population density,
while a small proportion of total funding is distributed based on sparsity.</p><p><br>More
