answer text <p>In the year ending March 2021, there were 1,920 referrals to Prevent for individuals under the age of 18. Of these referrals, 347 (18%) were adopted as a Channel case. It should be noted that there were 32 referrals to Prevent in the year ending March 2021 where the individuals age was unknown.</p><p>Please note that we do not collect information on the number of individuals referred into and adopted by the Channel programme, only the number of referrals and adoptions. answer text <p>The Government agrees with the Intelligence and Security Committee on the benefits of close working arrangements between law enforcement and the security and intelligence services.</p><p>As noted in the Government’s response to the ISC’s report, MI5 has already developed closer working with Police and Home Office partners in tackling the threat posed by State Threats, including working together closely on a number of State Threats cases. The Salisbury response and investigations in 2018 were led by Counter Terrorism Policing, drawing on its expertise in investigating matters which pertain to national security. answer text <p>Further to the Written Answer by Baroness Williams of Trafford on 1 December 2020, HMG already has robust counter-terrorism measures in place, which are outlined in the UK’s Counter-Terrorism Strategy (CONTEST).</p><p>Our overseas approach to countering terrorism is global but completely integrated with our domestic approach. We continuously review policies in light of new developments. We closely monitor France and Austria’s responses to the attacks.</p><p>We will continue to look to learn from these examples where they are applicable to the UK context. We continue to share best practices, and discuss evolving threats and responses, such as preventing terrorist use of the internet, with the governments of both France and Austria.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Home Office funds dedicated Prevent posts and projects in local authorities where the risk of radicalisation is most acute, to reduce the threat from terrorism.</p><p> </p><p>Local authorities who receive Prevent priority Home Office funding are invited to develop and submit bids for locally commissioned projects. These bids must explain how these projects effectively mitigate the threat in that area. Bids are assessed by the Home Office and moderated by a cross-government panel before funding is approved.</p> more like this

Prevent projects can be delivered by national and local charities, community groups and organisations and private companies.
