answer text <p>The Government is clear that benefits should only be provided for the lawful residents of the UK, including migrants who are settled here.</p><p>The Government has taken steps to prevent illegal access to benefits, with those migrants who abuse the UK’s hospitality facing having to repay any benefits obtained.
