answer text <p>Tax relief was claimed for 15 animations with a financial year of completion of 2013-14. This is the first year in which animation tax relief was available. This increased to 25 claims for animations with a financial year of completion of 2014-15.</p><p> </p><p>Tax relief was claimed for 45 video games with a financial year of completion of 2014-15. This was the first year in which video games tax relief was available. Tax relief for video games expenditure was not available in 2013-14.</p><p> </p><p>The first Official Statistics on the number of claims and cost of theatre tax relief will be published in summer 2017, presenting information for 2014-15. Theatre tax relief was available from 1 September 2014, so no claims were possible for 2013-14.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Video Games Tax Relief is forecast to cost the Exchequer £10m in 2014-15. The first Official Statistics on the number of claims and cost of Video Games Tax Relief will be published in Summer 2016, allowing sufficient time for claims to have been submitted for the 2014-15 tax year. No estimate of the benefit for the economy as a whole is available.</p><br /><p>The forecast has been certified by the independent Office for Budget Responsibility and is consistent with their latest forecast of Corporation Tax receipts.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The video games tax relief came into effect from 1 April 2014. This generous new relief will provide support for the growing video games sector in the UK.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>HM Revenue &amp; Customs (HMRC) are currently presenting a series of events across the country to promote and explain the new relief to the industry. A specialist unit has been provided to assist businesses with making claims. Guidance is available on HMRC's website to explain the relief and help businesses decide whether they are eligible for relief. HMRC are working closely with the video games industry to develop more detailed guidance, which will be published shortly.</p> more like this
