answer text <p>The Childcare Service is an integrated digital service through which parents can apply for Tax-Free Childcare and 30 hours free childcare in a single application. As the costs of one application can be associated with both policies, there is not a clear distinction between the operating costs of each.</p><p> </p><p>The HMRC contribution to the operating costs of the childcare service are estimated to be around £30million in 2018/2019 and £42million in 2019/2020. These may be revised in light of actual workloads.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Information on the number of parents eligible for Tax-Free Childcare by constituency is not available at the current time.</p><p> </p><p>Regarding the number of parents who have used childcare vouchers in the Wakefield constituency, I refer the Honourable Member to the answer I gave on 25 January 2017 to the Honourable Member for Hull North (123405).</p><p> </p><p>Parents currently receiving vouchers can continue to do so while they work for the same employer and that employer continues to offer them. HM Revenue &amp; Customs have published guidance and written to employers, who operate the schemes, to make sure that they are aware of the changes.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Regarding the operating costs of the childcare vouchers and Tax-Free Childcare schemes, I refer the Honourable Member to the answer given on 8 February 2018 (126730).</p><p>In March 2017, the government launched the Childcare Choices website which brings together information about all the different help with childcare offered by the government – including Tax-Free Childcare.</p><p>HMRC and DfE are working together on a communications and engagement programme, which includes national, regional and social media, and communications through industry stakeholders. Parents who have signed up for updates on the new schemes are also being notified by direct email when they become eligible. HMRC officials are continuing to attend industry events, across the UK, to promote Tax-Free Childcare to childcare providers, local authorities, parent groups and other childcare industry stakeholders.</p> more like this
