answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/07/2017 answer text <p>I can reassure you that we are in close contact with the legal team for Mr Irving and the other five British nationals involved in this case, in India and in the UK. We also continue to raise the case with the Indian authorities at all levels, asking that they do all they can to bring the case to a speedy conclusion, bearing in mind the impact on the six men and their families.</p><p>This is an ongoing legal process and we cannot interfere in the Indian legal system, just as we would not allow another country to interfere in an ongoing court case in the United Kingdom.</p><p>We have a Prisoner Transfer Agreement with India but before arrangements can be made regarding Mr Irving's transfer to Scotland, all legal proceedings must be complete and all bail and appeal applications would need to be withdrawn. Friends the Secretaries of State for Health (Mr Hunt) and Education (Ms Greening) discussed gender equality, women’s empowerment, and female education and employment rights with Chinese ministerial counterparts. Women’s empowerment will continue to be a key theme for this year’s ‘People to People’ Dialogue. Our Ambassador in Beijing, Dame Barbara Woodward, is a patron of ‘Inspiring Women China’, and launched a series of events in schools across China in March this year. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/07/2017 answer text <p>​UK-China cooperation on climate change and energy is a key pillar of the bilateral relationship: our work includes policy, technology, commercial and research collaboration. The UK's Natural Environment Research Council and the National Natural Science Foundation of China are working together to monitor concentrations and varieties of airborne particles and volatile gases in the atmosphere, and their potential impact on human health. The UK continues to provide strong support for the development of China's national emissions trading scheme which will cover 10% of global emissions. We have made clear our disappointment with the decision, and reiterated the UK’s continued commitment to the Paris Agreement as the right global framework for protecting the prosperity and security of future generations, while keeping energy affordable and secure for our citizens and businesses. We regularly raise with Turkey the need to fully protect fundamental rights, particularly in the areas of freedom of expression and assembly. We also encourage protection of the rights of LGBTI persons, and work closely with Turkish civil society organisations active in this area. We will now work to ensure the Mission has a robust mandate and strong composition and will be urging the Burmese authorities to cooperate fully with it.</p><p>The UK continues to seek an end to all violations and to prevent an escalation in violence, including against Rohingya Muslims. Human rights and democratic reform will remain at the heart of British policy towards Burma. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2017 answer text <p>We are deeply concerned by reports detailing human rights violations against Rohingya Muslims in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rakhine_State" target="_blank">Rakhine State</a> of Burma. These include the reports by the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN" target="_blank">UN</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Commissioner_for_Human_Rights" target="_blank">High Commissioner for Human Rights</a>, as well as the UN <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Rapporteur" target="_blank">Special Rapporteur</a> on the Situation of Human Rights in Burma and by a range of international human rights organisations. We are also concerned by the humanitarian situation facing the people in Rakhine with up to 70,000 refugees fleeing across the border into Bangladesh.</p><p>With our International partners, we have co-sponsored a Resolution at the Human Rights Council in March 2017 which established a Fact Finding Mission to assess human rights violations in Rakhine. We urge the Burmese authorities to cooperate with the Mission as agreed by the Human Rights Council.</p><p>The UK continues to seek an end to all violations of international law, and to prevent escalation, irrespective of whether these violations fit the definition of specific international crimes. Human rights and democratic reform will remain at the heart of British policy.
