The Government remains clear that anyone found responsible must be held fully accountable.</p><p>The ongoing Saudi judicial process is an important element in the process to establish accountability. We are aware that the purpose of the trip was to discuss the US' peace plan. We have encouraged our American counterparts to bring forward detailed proposals for a viable Israel-Palestinian peace agreement that addresses the legitimate concerns of both parties. Egyptians must determine their own future and we are committed to supporting them. We want to see more political progress in Egypt - better protection of Egyptians' constitutional rights, freedom of expression and more space for NGOs and civil society. We are following the constitutional amendments being discussed in the Egyptian Parliament, which could extend Presidential term limits to six years. We understand these will be put to the people in a referendum, in line with the Egyptian constitution. Turkey is a valued NATO ally, on the front line of some of the UK and the Alliance's most difficult security challenges. Defence equipment procurement decisions are for nations, but all NATO allies have committed to reducing their dependence on Russian-sourced legacy military equipment. As the Prime Minister has said, there can be no place in our societies for the vile ideology that drives and incites hatred and fear. The events in New Zealand must strengthen our resolve on this issue.</p><p>On racism, the Government is committed, both domestically and internationally, to eliminating any form of racial discrimination. At home, our focus is on creating a fair society where all people, regardless of ethnic origin or background, are valued and able to participate fully and realise their own potential. Internationally, we believe that one of the most effective ways to tackle injustices and advocate for respect amongst different ethnic groups is to encourage countries to uphold their human rights obligations, including by working with international institutions, such as the United Nations. For example, the UK strongly supports the work of UN special procedure mandate holders, including the Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance, and we encourage other States to also support their work. It was clear from the Universal Periodic Review on Eritrea, conducted in January 2019, that the human rights situation in Eritrea remains of significant concern to the members of the Human Rights Council. We have encouraged the Government of Eritrea to consider fully all the recommendations made as part of that process, and continue to urge their cooperation with the Special Rapporteur. question text	To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the statement made by State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi during a public meeting on 15 March in Bago that she would seek to address the discrimination against members of religious minorities so that they could exercise their rights as prescribed in the Constitution of Myanmar; and the subsequent demand by local authorities that trustees of the mosques in Bago were asked to sign a written note declaring that “the Office of Labour, Immigration and Population does not practice discrimination against members of the Islamic faith in their applications for their citizenship scrutiny cards.”

I raised the UK's concerns about the persecution of minorities in Myanmar in his speech to the Human Rights Council last February, and we continue to raise the issue with the Government of Myanmar.
