answer text
The UK remains deeply concerned by the response to recent protests in Sudan, including the implementation of a year-long state of emergency on 22 February. We have been clear that the legitimate grievances expressed by protesters must be addressed, most recently in a statement made on 26 February with the USA, Norway and Canada. We continue to monitor the situation.
more like this

answer text
The British Government's top priority for the World Cup is the safety and security of British nationals travelling to Russia for the tournament. We are supporting the close co-operation between the UK and Russian police, and we plan to send additional staff to Russia during the tournament to support colleagues in the Embassy. A mobile embassy will move from city to city with the England team. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has been working closely with the Football Supporters Federation – the largest group of England supporters – to provide practical advice for British fans of all backgrounds, including LGBT fans. We advise British nationals to do their research and be prepared for their trip. This includes signing up to our travel advice and using it to help inform their travel plans.
more like this

answer text
We welcome the expected resumption of the High Level Revitalisation Forum (HLRF) talks in South Sudan on 17 May. However, the British Government is disappointed that the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (COHA) signed by all parties in December has not held, and that the HLRF has so far failed to generate serious commitments from the parties to compromise.

We strongly condemn ongoing violations of the COHA, and urge the Intergovernmental Authority on Development to take immediate action to ensure that those who undermine the peace process, face consequences for their actions, to leave the parties in no doubt about the region's commitment to peace.
more like this
