answer text <table><tbody><tr><th> </th><td><table><tbody><tr><td>In the past 12 months, the Government has provided £2.3 million in support to local governance in opposition-controlled areas in Syria. This funding has enabled the training of local officials to help them ensure the provision of essential services to ordinary Syrians in their towns and villages, including vital infrastructure repair and rehabilitation projects which meet the needs of local people. The project is planned to continue for at least one more year. The UK is committed to helping the Syrian people who continue to suffer after more than three years of conflict.</td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table> more like this

answer text <p>I issued a statement on 29 October condemning the announcement of plans for 1,060 new housing units in East Jerusalem. I made it clear that this was an ill-judged and ill-timed decision, which makes it harder to achieve a two state solution with Jerusalem as a shared capital. Officials from our Embassy in Tel Aviv have raised this issue with the Israeli National Security Adviser, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Political-Military Adviser, senior contacts at the National Security Council and the Cabinet Office.</p> more like this
