answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/09/2024 answer text <p>People with mental health issues in the Colne Valley constituency and across the country are not getting the support or care they deserve, which is why we will fix the broken system to ensure that mental health is given the same attention and focus as physical health, so that people can be confident in accessing high quality mental health support when they need it.</p><p>We will recruit an additional 8,500 mental health workers to reduce delays and provide faster treatment, which will also help ease pressure on hospitals. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2024 answer text <p>The Government is committed to improving the sexual health of the whole population, which would encompass access to and quality of sexual health services within England, including in the Colne Valley constituency.</p><p>Public health services commissioned by local authorities in England continue to be funded through a ring-fenced Public Health Grant. In 2024/25, the total Public Health Grant to local authorities has been confirmed at £3.603 billion, through which sexual health services are funded. Local authorities are best placed to commission sexual health services that best meet the needs of their local population. We will work with local government and other key partners to prevent ill health, improve the wider determinants of health, reduce the inequalities that drive poor health, and agree on the most effective interventions to achieve our shared ambitions.</p><p>The Government has committed to commission a new HIV Action Plan to end new HIV transmissions within England by 2030, which will consider how best to improve access to HIV prevention and care. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/03/2024 answer text <p>The National Health Service in England funds abiraterone for eligible NHS patients in line with recommendations published by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). It has been recommended by the NICE for the treatment of metastatic hormone-relapsed prostate cancer before chemotherapy is indicated, and for castration-resistant metastatic prostate cancer previously treated with a docetaxel-containing regimen.</p><p>NHS England is in the process of considering a clinical policy proposal for the use of abiraterone as an off-label treatment option for patients newly diagnosed with high risk, non-metastatic, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer, or in whom prostate cancer has relapsed after at least 12 months without treatment. This figure includes the impact of the national programme overseen by NHS England and the Yorkshire Lung Screening Trial, which operates in the City of Leeds and has been funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.</p><p> </p><p>The national requirement is that a full population rollout programme should be in place by 2028/29 and a local programme of expansion has already been developed to cover the remaining population within this timescale. This will include populations who will have aged into eligibility for targeted lung health checks whilst the initial programme has been developed across West Yorkshire.
