answer text
A review conducted by NHS England and published in July 2019, concluded that expanded access to radiotherapy services for patients in the Hertfordshire area was desirable through the provision of a satellite service in the north part of the Mount Vernon catchment area, but recommended that the core service issues should be addressed prior to this. The review of Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is ongoing to ensure the service is able to respond to the significant advances in cancer treatment over recent decades which includes identifying a specialist cancer provider to run the centre.

more like this

answer text
Clinical commissioning groups (CCG) are the responsible commissioner for this prescription of liothyronine. NHS England and NHS Improvement has set out its position and it is for CCGs to have regard to that guidance. If a CCG has a commissioning policy that differs from the guidance, then it is for the CCG to explain to patients why this is the case and the basis on which their decision was made. Therefore, patients should raise their concerns with the CCG. NHS England and NHS Improvement’s guidance does not remove the discretion of individual prescribers who remain responsible for clinical decisions relating to their patient’s care.
more like this
