<p>In developing its recommendations on Kuvan, the National Institute for Health and
Care Excellence (NICE) will consider all the health-related costs and benefits associated
with the treatment in accordance with its published methods and processes and the
scope for the appraisal that has been developed in consultation with stakeholders;
potentially including any costs from National Health Service funded treatments that
can be avoided such as food supplements. The NICE appraisal of Kuvan is now underway
and NICE expects to publish final guidance next year.</p>
