answer text <p>We are providing £1.6 billion of additional funding to local authorities to assist them in their response to COVID-19. We expect the majority of this resilience funding will go to adult social care to meet increased demand and support providers and the workforce. In addition to this we are giving £1.3 billion to enhance the National Health Service discharge process which will get patients who no longer need urgent treatment home from hospitals safely and quickly.</p><p>In addition to COVID-19 funding, we announced that in 2020/21 we are providing councils with an additional £1.5 billion for adult and children’s social care which will support local authorities to meet rising demand and continue to stabilise the social care system.</p> more like this
