answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/09/2019 answer text <p>Publication of the responses to Prevention of Future Deaths (PFD) reports is a matter for the Chief Coroner as set out in the Coroners (Investigations) Regulations 2013.</p><p>The Department takes seriously concerns raised by coroners. Where coroner reports are issued to the Department for response, officials liaise with the relevant bodies to ensure concerns are carefully considered and lessons are identified, so that appropriate action can be taken.</p><p>The Department responded to one PFD report concerning asthma services on 24 April 2019. This was in response to the Prevention of Future Deaths Report issued by the Assistant Coroner for the Eastern Area of Greater London following the inquest into the death of Sophie Holman.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is committed to doing all it can to ensure the National Health Service learns from tragic, avoidable deaths and provides high quality, safe care for all patients. This is demonstrated by publication of the NHS Patient Safety Strategy on 2 July 2019. The GDPR provides rights in relation to the control of data rather than referring to ownership.</p><p>The organisation that creates a health record is responsible for the use of information in the record and determines who has access to it and that any access is lawful. The health checks are delivered though general practitioner practices and a community provider.</p><p>Since the health checks were established, 1,097 assessments have taken place (to July 2019). Of the 1,097 assessments that have taken place, 52 related to children and young people up to the age of 18. The remainder were adults. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>We have introduced two waiting time standards for children and young people with particular conditions and the National Health Service is on track to meet both of these.</p><p> </p><p>The first aims for 95% of children (up to 19 years old) with eating disorders to receive treatment within a week for urgent cases and four weeks for routine cases. 80.6% of children and young people’s eating disorder patients started urgent treatment within one week and 82.4% of patients started routine treatment within four weeks in the period January – March 2019.</p><p> </p><p>The second aims for 50% of patients of all ages experiencing a first episode of psychosis to receive treatment within two weeks of referral. Nationally, the National Health Service is exceeding the target with 76.7% of patients starting treatment within two weeks in May 2019.</p><p> </p><p>As set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, NHS England is piloting four week waiting times in 12 areas across the country to establish how to achieve a four week waiting time for all children and young people’s community mental health services.</p><p> </p><p>Under the Plan, NHS England will also ensure that specific waiting times targets for emergency mental health services for all, including children and young people, will take effect from 2020.</p><p> </p> answering member constituency Mid Bedfordshire answering member printed Ms Nadine Dorries question first answered 03/09/2019 14:22:20 answering member 1481 label Biography information for Ms Nadine Dorries
