answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/12/2014 answer text <p>The Department does <ins class="ministerial">not </ins>hold this information.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We take the issue of coercion seriously and staff working in abortion clinics are experienced and highly skilled in discussing sensitive issues with women and identifying whether there is any coercion or other risks to the woman.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Women who present for an abortion will always have the opportunity to speak to a health professional on their own at some point during the consultation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/05/2014 answer text <p>The Abortion Act 1967 sets out that two doctors must certify that in their opinion, which must be formed in good faith, a request for an abortion meets at least one (and the same) of the grounds set out in the Act.</p><p> </p><p>The Department's view that registered medical practitioners should be able to show how they have considered the particular facts of a case when forming their opinion, for example by making notes in the patient record.
