The full yearly amount of the basic State Pension increased by £1,837.</p><p> </p><p>Between April 2010 and April 2024 the basic State Pension increased from £97.65 per week to £169.50 – representing an increase of £71.85 per week or 74 per cent in cash terms. This represents a £20 per week increase in the rate of SSP since 2021.</p><p> </p><p>SSP is just one part of our welfare safety net and our wider Government offer to support people in times of need.
