answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2016 answer text <p>Government does not collect data specifically on employment rates for people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).</p><p>Estimates are available from the National Autistic Society (NAS), who suggest that 15% of working age people with autism are in full time employment.</p><p>Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is taking a number of steps to help adults on the autism spectrum into work, including:</p><ul><li>the development of an Autism/ Hidden Impairment Network across Jobcentre Plus;</li><li>the expansion of the Access to Work Mental Health specialist advisory team to cover people with autism and associated hidden impairment conditions;</li><li>work to implement autism specific opportunities on LMS, Jobcentre Plus’s IT system;</li><li>the introduction of a Job-Shadowing Work Placement Initiative for young disabled people (65% of participants in the first tranche had autistic spectrum conditions)</li><li>The formation of an Autism Taskforce involving disability organisations and disabled people.</li></ul><p>DWP has worked in close partnership with the Hidden Impairment National Group (HING) to produce an ‘Uncovering Hidden Impairments’ toolkit, which helps employers to recruit and retain people with hidden impairment conditions.</p><p>DWP is fully committed to the Government’s Autism Strategy. Fit for Work provides both a supportive occupational health assessment and general health and work advice to employees, employers and General Practitioners (GPs), to help individuals stay in or return to work.</p><p>People who have been unemployed due to ill health may be also eligible for support from a number of other programmes, including:</p><br /><ul><li>Work Choice, which is a specialist disability employment programme that provides tailored support for disabled people who face barriers to finding and retaining work</li></ul><br /><ul><li>Specialist Employability Support (SES), which was launched in 2015, is a new national provision, designed to help unemployed disabled adults with the most complex needs to secure and sustain employment or self-employment.</li></ul><br /><ul><li>The Work Programme, which allows providers the flexibility to design an innovative and personalised approach to help participants back into sustained employment.</li></ul><p>Additionally, an individual who is returning to their current job or a new job after a period of ill health may be eligible for support from Access to Work, which is a discretionary grant scheme that offers financial awards for in-work support for people whose disability or health condition affects the way they work.</p> answering member constituency North Swindon answering member printed Justin Tomlinson question first answered 28/01/2016 12:57:18 answering member 4105 label Biography information for Justin Tomlinson

They are therefore extensions of entitlement rather than withdrawals of it.</p><br /><p>It is the intention from April 2016, that Housing Benefit claimants who leave Great Britain for longer than 4 weeks will no longer be able to get Housing Benefit while they are away. All staff currently working on Print within Hewlett Packard (HP) will transfer over on this date via TUPE unless they have decided to opt out and accept alternative positions within HP prior to the date of transfer. All staff have been informed and consultation is actively underway in line with legislative requirements.</p><p>In terms of contractual obligations, Williams Lea are obligated to transfer the service over by 31<sup>st</sup> March 2016.
