answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2019 answer text <p>The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is responsible for ensuring that only those who meet the required medical standards are issued with a driving licence.</p><p> </p><p>The DVLA considers all available medical evidence before making a decision. If a driving licence is revoked based on the medical information, the DVLA will always consider any further information that subsequently becomes available. If this demonstrates that the required medical standards can be met, the DVLA will investigate and, where appropriate, reinstate the driving entitlement. Rail must make a significant contribution towards achieving this target as part of our Transport Decarbonisation Plan.</p><p> </p><p>We are working with Network Rail to develop a costed decarbonisation network strategy which will inform decisions on the scale and pace of rail decarbonisation. This work will consider the full range of available technologies and identify which is most appropriate for each part of the rail network.</p><p> </p><p>Decisions on rolling stock will be taken as part of this wider strategy, alongside decisions on infrastructure. When Article 50 was extended, £51.4m was paid to terminate contracts.</p><p> </p><p>The Government ran a new procurement exercise to secure freight capacity as part of preparations for Brexit on 31 October, entering into contracts for the 6 months from this date. With the extension to Article 50, we have changed our requirements with operators to make sure that capacity remains available from 31 January if required.
