answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/12/2023 answer text <p>The Mayor already has powers to determine whether e-scooter trials can take place in London and he has permitted a number of these to take place since June 2021. Transport for London administers the trials in participating boroughs with the scheme operators, and enforcement of the illegal use of e-scooters is a matter for the police.</p><p> </p><p>E-cycles can be used legally on public roads providing that they comply with the Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle regulations, which, among other things, limit their power and speed.
