<p>Since 1 October 2014, vehicle excise duty automatically ends when the Driver and
Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has been notified that a vehicle has been sold, transferred
into the motor trade, scrapped, exported, stolen or a statutory off road notification
is made. When the DVLA is notified of any of these events, the registered keeper automatically
receives a refund of the full months remaining on their vehicle excise duty. The table
