During my recent visit to Brazil, I raised the UK’s commitment to environmental protection and offered support to Brazil in the transition to renewable energy and a lower carbon economy.</p><p> </p><p>We are working in partnership with Brazil and through UK Government-led programmes, investing over £150 million of climate finance in forest programmes across the country.</p><p> </p><p>I was delighted that on my return from Brazil in August, the PM announced an extra £10 million in the aftermath of recent fires.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Whilst my Department does not hold a central list of all historic missions from UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) as well as DIT, on reviewing available data, we estimate that over the last five years DIT and its predecessor UKTI have delivered in excess of 500 formal overseas trade missions to more than 80 countries. The figure may well be higher, as my Department operates in 108 countries globally, and not all facilitated visits are formally recorded as trade missions.</p> more like this

answer text <p>All government departments are mandated to use the Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Energy frameworks for the supply of gas, electricity and liquid fuels.</p><p> </p><p>The CCS competes the frameworks on the open market and selects the energy providers according to a set of award criteria, normally based on price and quality. The current suppliers of each of these services are:</p><p> </p><ul><li>EDF (Half-Hourly electricity);</li><li>British Gas (Non Half-Hourly electricity);</li></ul><p> </p><p>The department transferred the facilities management of its main buildings at 3 Whitehall Place and 55 Whitehall Place, London to the Government Property Agency (GPA) in September 2019. The GPA is responsible for the supply of electricity to these sites. Prior to this the Ministry of Justice was responsible for providing facilities management services, including the supply of electricity.</p><p> </p><p>The department occupies other properties both in the UK and internationally. The supply of electricity at these sites including the choice of supplier is either the landlord’s or main occupier’s responsibility.</p>

Trade between Australia and New Zealand was worth a combined total of £19.4 billion (in the four quarter to the end Quarter 1 2019). Through our on-going engagement with UK stakeholders, including our work to promote UK exports overseas, and with the Governments of Australia and New Zealand, we have assessed that the UK could increase its trade and investment relationship with both countries, benefiting both UK businesses and consumers. answer text <p>As a priority, we are continuing to engage with the US at all levels to protect and promote UK industry. Specifically, we are working closely with the US make the case that tariffs are not in the interest of the UK, EU or US. My Rt Hon. Friend the Secretary of State for International Trade has recently spoken to US Trade Representative Lighthizer. My Rt Hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary has raised this urgent matter with US Secretary of State Pompeo and the Prime Minister urged President Trump directly to reconsider the announced tariffs. I have also personally had a call with US Ambassador Johnson on this issue. We will continue to work with the UK, EU and US and support the case for de-escalation and a negotiated settlement.</p> more like this
