<p>Negative social and cultural expectations lead to discrimination against women and girls, and can severely limit their ability to participate fully in politics and in the economy. DFID is committed to tackling this discrimination in our strategy to empower women and girls, and in our recently published Bilateral and Multilateral Development reviews.</p>
