answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/10/2016 answer text <p>On 21 September, the UK announced an extra £40 million of humanitarian funding to Iraq, taking our total commitment to £90 million this financial year and £169.5 million since June 2014. This new assistance will be targeted specifically to enable a scale up of humanitarian assistance ahead of the Government of Iraq-led Mosul operations. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/10/2016 answer text <p>The counter fraud section of DFID’s Internal Audit Department is responsible for managing all internal and external referrals on crime, corruption and fraud. The majority of reports are raised through our confidential hotline or through our dedicated e-mail account. Both of these access points are clearly referenced on DFID’s external website.</p><p>Our case numbers have increased in recent years. We believe this is as a result of the proactive approach we have taken on fraud awareness and counter fraud activities. Our staff and partners are now much clearer on the action to be taken to report concerns as soon as they arise.</p><p>In FY13-14 there were 6 cases of proven fraud across 4 of our central departments. There were 51 cases of proven fraud across 18 of our country offices.</p><p>In FY14-15 there were 33 cases of proven fraud across 9 of our central departments. There were 39 cases of proven fraud across 17 of our country offices.</p><p>In FY15-16 there were 28 cases of proven fraud across 11 of our central departments. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2016 answer text <p>The Fifth Replenishment Conference for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria took place on 15 and 16 September in Montreal, Canada.</p><p>At the conference, the Secretary of State announced an investment of £1.1billion in the Global Fund, including a commitment to double private sector contributions for tackling malaria, up to a maximum of £200million, and £90million linked to successful delivery against a performance agreement.</p><p>The UK’s investment will help to fund 40million bednets to tackle malaria; provide enough lifesaving anti-retroviral therapy for 1.3million people with HIV; and support the treatment of 800,000 people with tuberculosis. DFID has a range of programmes which are working with developing countries to ensure renewable energy markets work effectively as well as supporting energy businesses to grow, and providing consumers with access to funding to buy solar goods. The commitment ensures that we improve the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable people in the world. Poverty is increasingly concentrated in fragile states and regions, and conflict is one of the major challenges to development. Over half of the world’s poor live in fragile states.</p><p>Our work in fragile states and regions will help to build stability, prevent conflict and support economic growth in the world’s poorest countries and regions. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/10/2016 answer text <p>DFID’s expenditure on HIV and AIDS is now overwhelmingly directed through our multilateral support: our £1.1billion investment in the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria for the period 2017-19 and our work with UNITAID and UNAIDS.</p><p>Strategic investments in DFID country programmes support this. Direct bilateral budget expenditure specifically coded under HIV prevention, treatment and care amounts to £18.3million for 2016/17 according to the UK AID Development Tracker; which can be found on our website at <a href="https://devtracker.dfid.gov.uk/sector/2/categories/130/projects/13040" target="_blank">https://devtracker.dfid.gov.uk/sector/2/categories/130/projects/13040</a>.</p><p>This supports regional programmes and projects in 8 DFID countries.
