This is outlined in DFID’s new Disability Inclusion Strategy (2018-2023) and Education Policy (2018).</p><p> </p><p>DFID supports Syrian refugee children to recover from war through the No Lost Generation Initiative in Lebanon (2016-2020). In the last year, DFID has been supporting the Ministry of Education in the roll-out of a child protection policy in schools, and supported training of school counsellors and school child protection focal points in psychological first aid and support. This enables them to better identify, support and refer children at risk.</p><p> </p><p>Over the last six months, DFID has also worked closely with Education Cannot Wait, the first global fund on education in emergencies, to strengthen mental health and psychosocial support in schools. In May 2019 Education Cannot Wait started a formal partnership with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Collaborative for Children and Families. We estimate that UK-funded assistance provided since August 2017 has reached most of the 1.3 million refugees and vulnerable host community members targeted by the international humanitarian Joint Response Plan. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/06/2019 answer text <p>We do not allocate money from the ICF specifically to raise awareness of climate change in developing countries.</p><p> </p><p>Nearly all developing countries signed the 2015 Paris Agreement and they continue to be active in the international climate negotiations. The Least Developed Country group (a bloc of 48 nations particularly vulnerable to climate change) were among those calling on the United Nations Secretary General to convene a climate summit in September this year to raise global ambition on tackling climate change. The UK and Egypt, alongside Malawi, Bangladesh, the Netherlands and St Lucia, are leading work to secure international commitments to take more action to help countries cope with climate change impacts.</p><p> </p><p>Developing country governments are already taking action themselves. For example, Bangladesh has introduced a National Resilience Programme to ensure it has the capacity to respond to extreme weather events, and the UK is assisting them with that. The final report will have a chapter for each Goal which will include information on action the UK Government is taking in relation to each Goal, along with separate sections which highlight action being taken by the administrations in Scotland and Wales, and in Northern Ireland. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/05/2019 answer text <p>The current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is an immediate priority for the Department for International Development (DFID), we have dedicated teams leading a coordinated UK HMG response effort. The UK is one of the leading donors to the response in DRC, and preparedness efforts in the region.</p><p>DFID have so far contributed £33.5 million to Ebola in DRC in 2018/19. Moreover, we are the leading donor by far for regional preparedness, contributing £14 million across the most-at-risk countries (mainly for Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan). We have also provided specialist staff into the response and are continuing to push other donors to step up their engagement. Beyond funding and technical support, we are actively lobbying to improve management of the response, including coordination. While the efforts of the Government of DRC and the WHO have been laudable, significant improvements must be made in terms of coordination and management to bring the outbreak to an end.</p><p>I plan to visit North Kivu in Eastern DRC later this month to understand the situation on the ground and how the UK can continue to support the response. One immediate priority is the need to galvanise other donors to support the response and preparedness efforts.
