answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/01/2017 answer text <p>The UK remains deeply concerned about the humanitarian situation in Rakhine, Kachin and Northern Shan. We continue to raise our concerns with both military and civilian Ministers in the Government of Burma as a matter of urgency.</p><p>The UK has long been one of the biggest humanitarian donors in Burma and in Rakhine State, providing over £23 million in humanitarian assistance in Rakhine since 2012. No financial aid is provided to the Government of Burma. The UK currently provides humanitarian support to around 100,000 people in the state including to people in internally displaced people camps outside of northern Rakhine and some limited support in northern Rakhine. We rely on UNAIDS and country data to assess progress in specific countries.</p><p>The UK expects all its bilateral health systems strengthening programmes in high burden countries to integrate HIV. We have committed £2.3 billion, of which £436 million supports UN agencies delivering aid inside Syria. We are using all our diplomatic tools to press the Syrian regime and its backers to allow the UN immediate and unhindered access to all those in need across Syria. As part of this, the UK co-sponsored and lobbied hard to secure UN Security Council Resolutions 2165, 2191, 2258 and 2332 which enable the UN and its partners to deliver aid across borders into Syria without the consent of the Syrian regime. At the event, donors pledged over $100 million in new funding, including half from a new UK pledge. The UK Government is also matching public donations to the current Disaster Emergency Committee appeal for Yemen, which has so far raised £15 million, including £5 million from the UK Government.</p><p>This brings our total commitment to Yemen to over £100 million in humanitarian aid for 2016/17, making us the fourth largest donor. DFID regularly engages with human rights and economic development non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that receive indirect funding through our access to justice and private sector development programmes.
