answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/11/2016 answer text <p>Our HIV and AIDS work has focused on multilateral instruments (Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, UNITAID and UNAIDS), given their greater reach and scale. The Global Fund helps countries avoid stock outs of drugs and supports patients to sustain treatment, which are two key factors in preventing drug resistance.</p><p>UNITAID has also played a key role in tackling HIV drug resistance by building the market for second-line antiretroviral treatment. DFID has a range of programmes to increase investment.</p><p>For example, programmes in Kenya and Tanzania aim to stimulate investment in community scale, renewable energy mini-grids, increasing electricity access for millions of people, and our Renewable Energy and Adaptation to Climate Technologies challenge fund provides seed finance for renewable energy businesses. The UK Government supports calls for shared responsibility and global solidarity in the response to HIV to achieve the Global Goal target. We are currently providing 16,000 households with food, child nutrition support, access to health care, clean water and shelter.
