answer text <p>DFID has contributed a total of £23m in humanitarian aid to the crisis in the Central African Republic since mid-2013, with £700,000 remaining to be distributed according to humanitarian priorities in the coming months.</p><p>DFID allocated £5m to support NGOs in CAR in November 2013 which was increased in February 2014 to £7 million in light of growing needs. The bulk of funding was awarded to five NGOs: Mentor, Save the Children, Solidarites, Mercy Corps and International Medical Corps. Since DFID makes quarterly payments to NGOs, not all funds have been disbursed.</p><p>In addition, DFID allocated humanitarian funds to the ICRC, Common Humanitarian Fund, UNHAS, UNHCR and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO).</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Research and Evidence Division within DFID spent £320 million during the financial year 2013-14. Research spend covers a wide range of different types of research across a number of themes including agriculture, climate and environment, education, governance, conflict and social development, growth and health research.</p><p>The total spent on developing new drugs, vaccines, diagnostics and microbicides for HIV was £4.5m during the financial year 2013-14. Funding was provided to the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) and the International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM). answer text <p>DFID has aligned with the Civil Service-wide diversity targets for levels of representation in the Senior Civil Service (SCS). These targets are:</p><p>· 39% of the SCS to be women – DFID has achieved this target as 39% of our SCS are women.</p><p>· 34% of top management posts (Director and above) to be held by women DFID has exceeded this target as 42% of such posts are held by women.</p><p>· 5% of the Senior Civil Service to be minority ethnic staff - DFID has exceeded this target as 7% of our SCS are minority ethnic.</p><p>· 5% of the Senior Civil Service to be disabled people - DFID has exceeded this target as 6% of our SCS identify as having a disability.</p><p>In addition to this DFID has made a commitment to improve staff engagement survey scores for people with disabilities as this is recognised as an issue across government.
