The UK investment of up to £500m each year on malaria has helped high burden countries
and communities scale up the right mix of good quality malaria prevention, diagnosis
and treatment. This has contributed to averting 3.3 million malaria deaths between
2001 and 2012 and the shrinking of the global malaria footprint. We are also investing
in the future, by developing new treatments and new prevention approaches so that
countries will be able to free themselves from malaria.
