We are considering very carefully a range of options. In most cases we anticipate that repatriated EU functions can be absorbed by existing UK departments and existing public bodies. In most cases we anticipate that repatriated EU functions can be absorbed by UK departments and existing public bodies.</p><p>The Government has previously announced three new agencies; the Trade Remedies Authority; an independent and statutory body holding government to account for the environment; and an independent authority for monitoring the implementation and application of the citizens' rights provisions of the withdrawal agreement. It is therefore not possible to use the UK’s financing share of the whole budget to calculate our contribution to specific EU Agencies.</p><p>As set out in the Political Declaration on the Framework of the Future Relationship between the EU and the UK, we are exploring the possibility of cooperation of United Kingdom authorities with Union agencies such as the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). We will carry on working with the European Union to see on what basis and under what conditions UK participation can take place. The UK will no longer sit at the European Council table or in the Council of Ministers, and will no longer have Members of the European Parliament.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>However, as set out in the agreement endorsed by the March European Council, representatives or experts from the UK may continue to attend meetings of certain EU committees, agencies, and other bodies during the implementation period, where the presence of the UK is necessary and is in the interests of the Union, or where the discussion concerns acts addressed to the UK and its citizens.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>No decisions have yet been made on our future relationship with the EU's bodies after the implementation period. The Government is considering very carefully a range of options, but where there is a demonstrable national interest in pursuing a continued relationship with an EU body, we will carefully examine whether we should pursue this. The exact nature of that participation will be a matter for further discussion.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>As a non-member state, we have been clear that the UK will no longer have the same role in the decision-making of the EU. Now that the Commission has a clear negotiating mandate, we hope to move quickly to begin detailed discussions on the implementation period.</p><p>The exact nature of our involvement in the EU institutions, agencies and bodies during the implementation period remains a matter for discussion.</p><p>However, during the implementation period, we are agreed that EU rules and regulations will continue to apply.
