answer text <p>Defra launched a £4million Flood Resilience Community Pathfinder Scheme in 2013 to understand local resilience better and to contribute to our policy making. The scheme will close in March 2015 and - following an evaluation – we intend to share the lessons learnt with local authorities and community organisations.</p><p> </p><p>The Environment Agency’s local teams work on a daily basis with at-risk communities across the country to build resilience.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Long-Term Investment Scenarios (LTIS) and the six-year programme were developed by the Environment Agency and published on 2 December 2014. LTIS gives a high level and long term strategic picture of future investment needs using national level data. It cannot support programme level decisions because it does not contain sufficient detail to make such decisions. In contrast, decisions on allocation of funding to individual schemes in the six-year programme are made based on more detailed processes, guidance and local data.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Environment Agency expects to attract contributions from other sources of over £600 million, but the exact timing and amount depends on local choices. We are on course to bring in up to £140 million in external funding over the four years to 2015.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Contributions can come from national, local, private or public sources. They supplement our national budget, meaning more can be done to reduce the risks of flooding and coastal erosion across the country.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Partnership funding encourages contributions from those who benefit from reduced risk.
