answer text <p> </p><p>Flood alleviation works are progressing very well on the Somerset Levels, with many repairs and improvements expected to be completed before the coming winter.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Within the schedule of works it is planned to dredge 8km of the Rivers Parrett and Tone. So far 2.35km has been dredged, and this work is on schedule to be completed by the autumn.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Environment Agency has nearly 50 asset repair projects underway in Somerset, repairing banks, pumping stations, sluices, gates and other mechanisms. The intention is to bring these assets to their pre-flood condition by October 2014.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>1) Around 13% of England was designated as Green Belt in 2012/13.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>2) There are 33 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) designations wholly within England, along with the Wye Valley which spans the English-Welsh border. AONB designation covers approximately 15% of the land area of England.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>3) There are 10 National Parks in <strong>England</strong> covering approximately 9% of the land area.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>4) According to the Land Cover Map 2007, produced by the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology in 2011, around 9% of England is classed as built-up (including gardens).</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p> </p><p>Plans are currently being developed to consult on a change to the Bread and Flour Regulations. The change would permit the production of unfortified flour in the UK under certain limited circumstances where the flour is destined for use as an ingredient in further processing. This consultation will not focus on the fundamental issue of fortification. It will consider options to ensure that UK produced flour used by manufacturers is not put at a disadvantage compared to unfortified flour produced in other Member States.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Health Ministers have yet to make a decision on mandatory fortification of flour with folic acid. They are awaiting data on the blood folate status of the population, which is expected in early 2015.</p><p> </p> more like this

According to The Association of Inland Navigation Authorities (AINA), in 2011 there were 873.8 million visits to waterways around Britain, 23.4 million of which were to visit a specific attraction. There were 293.2 million visits for leisure walking and 234.5 million visits for dog walking, making walking by far the most popular activity participated in.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The majority of Britain's waterways are managed by the Canal and River Trust (CRT) which is funded by Defra. One of the key objectives on which this funding depends is ensuring public access, including for recreation and tourism. The land managed by the CRT includes 3148km of towpaths, all of which are open to the public, and a number of monuments and historic sites including 5 UNESCO world heritage sites.</p><p> </p> more like this
