answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/07/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to continuing to raise literacy standards and ensuring all children can read fluently and with understanding.</p><p>Ofsted’s inspection framework, published in May 2019, puts a greater focus on how well schools are teaching their pupils to read: inspectors listen to children reading aloud, watch phonics classes and check how schools help weaker readers to improve.</p><p>In addition, the Department have launched a £26.3 million English Hubs Programme. Since then the time allowed for the Key Stage 2 reading assessment has not changed. The test framework for the English reading test places a limit on the number of words that can be included in the texts and this limit has not been breached.</p><p>Assessments go through a rigorous test development process lasting three years. Friend, the Member for Runnymede and Weybridge, announced in his Spring Statement on 13 March 2019 that the Department for Education will lead a scheme to provide access to free sanitary products in all secondary schools and colleges across England. On 16 April 2019, the former Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families (Nadhim Zahawi). my hon. Friend, the Member for Stratford-upon-Avon, announced that funding would be extended to cover need in primary schools and that national roll-out would take place in early 2020.</p><p>The invitation to tender for the period products scheme closed on 15 July 2019. Four more schools are in the pre-opening stage and will be located in Cambridge, Liverpool, Surrey and Lancashire. The Department is developing a network of new maths schools across England, working with leading universities and building on the success of the two open schools. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2019 answer text <p>The department places a high priority on supporting parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).</p><p>Engaging parents fully in determining support for children with SEND is a critical part of the SEND reforms. Section 19 of the Children and Families Act places a duty on local authorities and others to listen to and take account of the views of parents in SEND matters.</p><p>The department continues to support families by funding parent carer forums (PCF) in each local authority area, providing £15,000 per year per PCF. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2019 answer text <p>Higher education providers are autonomous bodies that are independent from the government and so the government plays no direct role in the provision of student residential accommodation.</p><p> </p><p>We have seen evidence that the standard of student accommodation is improving. For example, in 2018/19, the level of self-catered ensuite provision at institutions stood at approximately 222,000 rooms compared to approximately 203,000 in 2012/13, a 9% increase. Meanwhile, the number of self-catered standard rooms with shared facilities at institutions has declined from around 87,000 to approximately 64,000, a 26% decrease.</p><p> </p><p>The independent panel supporting the Post-18 Review of Education and Funding published their report on 30 May where they recommended the Office for Students examines the costs of student accommodation and works with students and providers to improve the quality and consistency of data about costs, rents, profits and quality.
