Four more schools are in the pre-opening stage and will be located in Cambridge, Liverpool, Surrey and Lancashire. The Department is developing a network of new maths schools across England, working with leading universities and building on the success of the two open schools. The Government is committed to opening more maths schools.</p><p> </p><p>Details on the 12 Institutes of Technology that the Department has announced can be found at the following link: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/institutes-of-technology--2" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/institutes-of-technology--2</a>.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has acknowledged that there might be some areas of the country where there were no proposals that met our quality standard in this competition. The Department collects data on school absence, which includes authorised and unauthorised absence data, but does not include whether the absence is due to attending climate change protests. They must record whether each pupil is: present; absent; attending an approved educational activity; or unable to attend due to exceptional circumstances. The Department plans to update the guidance in response to feedback received, including updates to the energy and water management sections.</p><p>Officials regularly present and promote the GEMS guidance at national and regional educational events. The Department also works closely with stakeholders to promote and raise awareness of the GEMS guidance.</p><p>Funding for clean technologies is available through Salix Finance Limited funded by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for Education.
