<p>In order to be eligible for funding for 16-19 education and training a student
must have the legal right to be resident in the United Kingdom at the start of their
study programme. A non-UK EU citizen legally resident in the UK at the start of their
course will continue to be eligible for the duration of their course.</p><p>The published
document 'Funding guidance for young people 2018 to 2019: funding regulations' sets
out the eligibility rules that apply for all of the funding year, from 1 August 2018
to 31 July 2019, and states that EU and EEA nationals are eligible for funding for
this period. We expect to publish the guidance for 2019 to 2020 in spring 2019.</p>
