answer text <p>Since the publication of the childhood obesity plan, we have met with a range of stakeholders to discuss the best way to deliver the healthy schools rating scheme. This is a complex and wide-ranging project, and we are taking the time necessary to ensure we deliver a successful resource.</p><p> </p><p>We are currently testing delivery models as we continue to explore the most effective way to deliver the scheme, building on successful resources that are already available to schools. answer text <p><em>Childhood obesity: a plan for action</em>, published in August 2016, included a commitment to introduce a new voluntary healthy rating scheme for primary schools to recognise and encourage their contribution to preventing obesity</p><p> </p><p>We are now reflecting on the feedback received from interested parties and we will come forward with proposals to take the scheme forward in due course. . The Department for Education published a prior information notice on 20 December 2016, which gave potential suppliers an overview of the type of services required by this scheme. In spring 2017, the department held meetings with interested suppliers to discuss the scheme.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We want schools to be supported to encourage pupils to lead healthier lifestyles.</p><p>The Healthy Schools Rating Scheme will provide schools with the tools to assess how well they encourage their children to eat a nutritious diet and lead an active lifestyle, and how they can improve. Healthy eating will be a core strand of the scheme but the detailed criteria have not yet been developed. Over the next month, we will be exploring the design and delivery options further with potential suppliers through pre-market engagement discussions.
