Museums are supported by public funding worth over £800 million annually to support this access. The UK Government remains committed to free entry to the permanent collections of our 15 DCMS- sponsored national museums ,which in total received around 47 million visits in 2017/18 .Additional projects, through Arts Council England (ACE), aim to improve cultural participation for everyone, regardless of their background. For example, ACE funds Creative People and Places which supports participation in places with traditionally lower engagement with culture. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government recognises the wide-ranging benefits that hosting major sports events can bring.</p><p>My Department works closely with UK Sport and the national governing bodies of sport, as well as local, regional and devolved partners, to ensure that the UK successfully bids for and stages a wide range of the world’s biggest sporting events.<strong><br></strong></p><p> </p><p>The 'Gold Framework' publication sets out the processes as to how the Government and UK Sport work together with our sports bodies in bidding and staging major sports events. The Secretary of State has recently met with ITV on this subject.</p><p> </p><p>Ofcom, as the independent broadcast regulator, is reviewing whether more can be done to safeguard the people taking part in reality and factual shows. The UK government works with telecoms companies to manage cyber security risks while ensuring the UK can continue to benefit from new technology. Ministers and officials have regular discussions with mobile phone companies on a range of matters, including covering potential cyber attacks. The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) provides simple advice and guidance to help individuals and organisations be more resilient to cyber attacks. While the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport is responsible for the sports grounds safety legislation, responsibility for the safety of spectators lies at all times with the ground management of individual sports grounds. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/06/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to becoming a world leader in 5G, and for the majority of the population to have access to a 5G signal by 2027. Following the Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review which sets out the Government’s national, long-term strategy for delivering world leading telecoms infrastructure across the UK, the Government is working to create the right conditions for the deployment of 5G.</p><p>We are investing in a nationally coordinated programme of 5G testbed facilities and application trials. Government has so far allocated £200 million from the National Productivity Investment Fund to the 5G programme to help establish new business models and revenue streams.</p><p>It is important to note that the vast majority of commercial rollout of 5G services will be delivered by industry, with services launching in the UK later this year. These visitors spent £128 million in Nottinghamshire, up 23% on the previous year.</p><p> </p><p>VisitBritain and VisitEngland are responsible for promoting the UK as a tourist destination, through a range of different initiatives and campaigns. VisitBritain receive annual grant-in-aid totalling £19.4m from DCMS and VisitEngland receive £7m.</p><p> </p><p>The Discover England Fund, administered by VisitEngland, has invested in the development of tourism product across the East Midlands area. Motor sports and motor cycling clubs and associations are eligible to apply to Sport England for funding and I would encourage them to consider this as an option to help increase participation.</p><p> </p><p>I also welcome the recently launched W Series, including a race in the UK. The W Series will showcase women's motorsport to an international audience and provide new routes into the sport for women.
