answer text <p>Business rates are based on valuations from the Valuation Office Agency and we do not intervene in their independent assessments. We have put in place a £3.6 billion transitional relief scheme for England to support ratepayers, including those in the solar power sector, at the 2017 revaluation. The transitional relief scheme has capped annual increases in rate bills due to the revaluation.</p><p>The Valuation for Rating (Plant and Machinery) (England) Regulations 2000 set out which energy generation technologies are subject to business rates.</p><p> </p> more like this
