In order to help maintain services to each community, the Post Office uses solutions such as mobile or other types of outreach services where necessary. The constituency of Stockport currently has nine post office branches. The government does not view business deaths as a reliable indicator of competitiveness, or economic health.</p><p> </p><p>Recognising the huge impact of the pandemic on businesses across the UK, this government has provided around £400 billion of direct support to the economy during this financial year and last, which has helped to safeguard jobs, businesses and public services in every region and nation of the UK. However, the Government does not believe there can be a ‘one size fits all’ approach to work arrangements. That is why we put individual agency and choice at the heart of our consultation on “making flexible working the default”, which closed on 1st December 2021. We are currently reviewing the responses and will respond in due course.</p><p> </p><p>BEIS Ministers attend the Flexible Working Taskforce, which is co-chaired by senior officials and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. This considers how to support flexible working in all its forms. Our R&amp;D People and Culture Strategy set out actions to attract, retain and develop talented people, ensuring R&amp;D careers in the UK are appealing to talented individuals and teams both domestically and internationally. The Global Talent visa, along with the forthcoming High Potential Individual and Scale-up visa routes announced in the Innovation Strategy, provides fast track visa routes for high skilled individuals and their teams.</p><p> </p><p>Through the Office for Talent (OfT), we are delivering further visa reform and reviewing our talent offer to make sure that our programmes are among the best and most attractive in the world. BEIS has worked with the OfT and GREAT to launch an online service to attract highly skilled, international talent, providing key information on the UK offer and thus making it easier to come to the UK. This service is available at: <a href="https://greattalent.campaign.gov.uk/" target="_blank">https://greattalent.campaign.gov.uk/</a></p><p> </p><p>The government will also launch a Global Talent Network, which aims to bring talented individuals to the UK in key science and tech sectors.
