answer text <p>In the last three years the Medical Research Council has funded one project relevant to mindfulness-based therapies. £149k was awarded in 2018 to researchers based at the University of Bristol for two years to evaluate a multi-stage intervention to improve foster carers mental health and well-being.</p><p> </p><p>The number of applications and success rates for projects relevant to mindfulness-based therapies cannot be provided. All applications to UK Research and Innovation are submitted in confidence and when research topics are specialised in nature, releasing information on the number of applications may result in Research Organisations and applicants potentially being identified.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The UK Research Partnership Investment Fund is a competitive research capital programme to support strategic research and development collaborations between universities, businesses and charities. It is managed by Research England, working with counterparts from devolved funding bodies, and only supports large scale infrastructure projects which are built on demonstrable research excellence, value for money, and can generate at least double in private co-investment.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2012 over £900m of science and research capital has been committed from the Fund to 54 projects which have secured an initial commitment of over £2bn in private investment. No projects were awarded to universities in Scotland from the latest round. In the first 5 rounds, £58.98m was committed to 5 projects in Scotland which collectively secured over £121m of private co-investment. This represents 6.5% of total funding allocated and 5.5% of the initial private co-investment.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Local Industrial Strategies are developed locally and agreed with government. In the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/local-industrial-strategies-policy-prospectus" target="_blank">policy prospectus</a> published in October 2018, we set out that Local Industrial Strategies should be the product of consultation with businesses, a broad range of public partners and civil society. answer text <p>Each LED bulb will save a household around £55 over its 15 year lifetime. This consists of £43 in reduced energy consumption and £12 in reduced replacement costs (given LED bulbs last around 7.5 times longer than traditional halogen bulbs). Our analysis suggests that there are approximately 35 bulbs in an average household, so savings will be around £125 per year.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government has made significant progress in decarbonising the electricity sector. Around a third (33%) of the electricity generated in 2018 came from renewables, up from 29.3% in 2017.</p><p> </p><p>Support provided to renewables through a range of policies such as the Renewables Obligation, the Feed-in Tariff, and Contracts for Difference has resulted in a diverse mix of renewable technologies. This includes wind, solar, hydro, bioenergy and more.</p><p> </p><p>In order to meet our net-zero ambitions, we will continue to support the roll out of new renewables generation. We announced last year our intention to hold CfD allocation rounds around every 2 years which could see 1-2 gigawatts of new offshore wind every year in the 2020s.</p> more like this
