answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/08/2016 answer text <p>The Government recognises the importance of our research base, which is why we have protected the science budget in real terms from its current level of £4.7 billion for the rest of the parliament.</p><p> </p><p>The referendum result has no immediate effect on the right of researchers to apply to or participate in EU research programmes. While the UK remains a member of the EU, current EU arrangements continue unchanged. UK participants, including those researching mental health issues, can continue to apply to programmes in the usual way. Some of our competitor economies (like France, Finland, and the Netherlands) use a variety of financial instruments to support innovative businesses. We have engaged with their innovation agencies to learn from these established approaches to support, drive and encourage innovation in the UK. We are conducting market research to engage with, and fully understand the needs of, innovative businesses of all sizes and across many UK industry sectors with a high level of innovation, including life sciences. As part of the first phase of implementation the Government will announce the details of a pilot and accompanying evaluation in late 2016. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2016 answer text <p>One of the eligibility requirements of the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive scheme is certification of products and installation companies under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). As part of the MCS scheme, the installation company must also be a member of a Chartered Trading Standards Institute approved consumer code which sets out the standards that installers must meet in contracting with consumers.</p><p> </p><p>The codes cover advertising and promotion, behaviour of sales staff, proposals, estimates and quotes, terms of business, cancellation rights, deposits and prepayments, guarantees, maintenance and service agreements and service and repair. They publish comprehensive guidance and consumer information on their website. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/07/2016 answer text <p>Consumer protection lies at the heart of the design of the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme. One of the eligibility requirements of the scheme is certification of products and installation companies under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). The MCS aims to deliver reliable and high performing installations and to provide a route for redress where there are consumer complaints.</p><p> </p><p>Installation companies that are certified by the MCS scheme must also be a member of a Chartered Trading Standards Institute approved consumer code. This code sets out the standards that installers must meet in contracting with consumers.</p><p> </p><p>In September 2015, DCLG and DECC commissioned Dr Peter Bonfield to undertake an independent review of consumer advice and protection, standards and enforcement in the energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/08/2016 answer text <p>Companies House continually reviews its operational procedures and response times as part of its normal business strategy.</p><p> </p><p>Companies House endeavours to respond to customer queries within a maximum of 10 working days but aims to provide prompt responses well within this time. At present, Companies House is implementing a new finance system, including updating its debt collection process As a result, from February to August 2016, the response time for some enquiries is being extended to 21 days. Once this temporary work is concluded the response targets will revert back to the 10-day target.
