This includes funding across the UK of €5.2bn through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and €243m through the European Marine and Fisheries Fund. question text	To ask Her Majesty’s Government, in the light of the remarks by the Minister for Universities and Science that it would be “business as usual” for EU funding committees until the UK leaves the EU, why there have been delays in communicating the outcomes of funding decisions since the referendum; and what steps they are taking to ensure that there are sufficient staff and resources available promptly to process and decide on applications for EU funding to ensure that those funds reach projects.

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2016 answer text <p>The application process for Horizon 2020 is administered by the European Commission. UK participants can continue to bid for competitive Horizon 2020 EU research funding while we remain a member of the EU. We will work with the Commission to ensure payment when funds are awarded. The Treasury will underwrite the payment of such awards, even when specific projects continue beyond the UK’s departure from the EU.
