answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/11/2022 answer text <p>The energy regulator Ofgem has rules in place that restrict the force-fitting of a prepayment meter on those in arrears, except as a last resort.</p><p> </p><p>Ofgem rules further require energy suppliers to assess whether installing a prepayment meter, including the remote switching of a smart meter, is safe and reasonably practicable for the customer. The Vivacity Labs project referred to was supported through the Innovate UK COVID-19 call for business-led innovation in response to global disruption due to the pandemic.</p><p>Vivacity Labs used smart sensors that do not pick up images to monitor road usage.</p><p>The data sets being used in this project date from April 2019.
